New Server / What's New

On January 23rd, 2012 by Miguel Ferreira | Comments Off | Posted in Blog

I'm testing new server (paid by me) for this site and some other projects, faster, more space and, without doubt much more expensive.

In recent days I finished one more stage in the development of meteorological stations, each time they are more complete and complex and to operate with fewer problems (having regard to the lack of euros for the development of them, is running very well) Shortly I will write an article about them…

If anyone is interested in relieving me this server costs, that me contact, in return offer space for site host

citynethost.com – NOT recommended…

On October 18th, 2011 by Miguel Ferreira | No Comments | Posted in Blog, Intranet e Internet, Linux

One year later (and a few shillings misspent)… It is time to renew one of my micro vps, This was in citynethost.com

According to them, all services have a guaranteed uptime 99.9% – A huge lie – My machine had an uptime of less than 90% (at home I have better)

This simple post only serves as negative publicity to the worst host that ever had the pleasure of paying and, Besides the machine constantly losing connection, the connection to the net was slow, normally the maximum that could was a measly 600kapas per second…

Missing 2 days for making payment of annuity, I tried to come into contact with the support of them, Some days later was told the ticket (that I scored as urgencia) and say that everything was ok to test the server, I was impossible because once again was off, I answer and today, the past few 4 or 5 days the ticket has been closed for inactivity without me were given a reply…

Final evaluation: -1 (0 the 20) – Do not have decent customer support, do not have decent services, There are several free services to pay better than this!

Nokia LCD 3510 Interface with PIC18F

When a mobile phone crashes in terms of software and even some hardware There are parts that can be leveraged for experiments or for projects, in particular the LCD's, saving yourself some loose change  .

The intention is to use an LCD from a Nokia 3510 connected to a microcontroller for information visualization, as done in previous experience, on a Nokia LCD 1100.

It is assumed that domain controller for this LCD is prepared both for the 3510 ( screen with shades of gray), as well as the 3510i (the colors), According to this site.

See for the welds made in contacts. Is a meticulous and work something that quite calm, as well as a low power  (14W) so as not to damage the contacts and the plastic membrane  .
